Spider-Man 3
Worst movie in 5 years

Popcorn Review by Jonathan Soleymani
May 4, 2007

Now, I've never been a fan of the Spider-Man movies, but I AM a comic book movie fan. Batman Begins, X-Men 1 and 2, Superman, Batman, etc. All great films whether comic book or not. I'll even say that Spider-Man 1 and 2 were OK, but could have been better.

But, Spider-Man 3 is ridiculous. Characters were badly written, the action was WAY too CGI and fake-looking and people laughed at the screen but it wasn't funny. It was sad. All that money on special effects (which weren't all that great), and no money on script.

The special effects for Sandman, especially when he dissolves and then re-builds himself, are truly amazing. Beautiful in a way.

That was the only positive I saw

Everything. Character development, most special effects, dialogue, plot, action. It's just a horrible film that really didn't need to be made. Clearly, Sony Pictures decided that making money off of a movie is more important than having a really good film. Either that, or Sam Raimi (Director) really wanted to bury the franchise so that he can go do other projects.

Bottom Line:
Skip it. This is a horrible film that shouldn't have been made. It's a slap to comic book movie fans, slap to adults, and a slap to anyone who has ever seen a movie. Watch any of these comic book movies instead:

Superman II
Batman Begins
X-Men 2
X-Men 3

My apologies for such a short critique of the film, but if I go any longer, this site will need to be censored and adult oriented because of all the foul language.
