Popcorn Review by Jonathan Soleymani
July 7, 2007

Let's not forget that it was Bruce Willis' John McClaine who put the Yippy Kay Aye in Mother F'er. And, let's not forget that it was the original Die Hard, along with movies like Commando, Rocky, Rambo, Terminator and Conan that really put action back in movies in the 70's and 80's.

Now, most people have seen the original Die Hard by now (at least, I would hope so). And some have even seen Die Harder and Die Hard with a Vengeance. But, the fact of the matter is, nothing will be like the original action film. Its a classic, that is hard to top. However, Bruce Willis has certainly brought back John McClaine with a vengeance, and has brought in some SERIOUS ass kicking.

Negatives...
Could this movie be ANY more ridiculous and cheesy? Probably not...but do you really care? Between cars being launched at helicopters, to fighting a Hot Asian Assassin in an elevator shaft, dangling from an SUV...this movie is completely ridiculous. Again...who cares?

Positives...
If you're looking for a kick ass action movie, this is it. With a summer full of action sequels (Spider-Man 3, Pirates), this one is actually GOOD! Fun times, exciting, ridiculous - everything you're looking forward to from John McClaine.

He's got a hot daughter, always nice. His "side-kick" is funny and plays the every-man geek who's basically in it to act like the audience - shock and awe! The "bad guy" is convincing - an over the top disgruntled employee who wants revenge.

Bottom Line...
Could this be Die Hardest? No. It's not the original. But it's a close second, and a hell of a ride. Want some action? GO SEE IT!
